Rail picture (two to choose from):The EIB financed the upgrade of the existing Napoli-Bari railway line to the higher technical standards, including increasing maximum speed to 200 km/h and doubling the existing single track sections. The project connects the biggest city in southern Italy, Napoli, with another major city, Bari, crossing two southern Italian regions (Campania and Puglia). The project expects to bring down travel times for passengers and contributes to a significant transport shift from road to rail, helping to cut carbon emissions
